For weeks now, a flock of starlings has been ebbing and flowing in the skies above Norwich. Every evening, at dusk. I took a few snaps from the loft with the Nokia.
Yes, I know. They don’t really capture the magnificence of the mumurating birds (that’s what they do, apparently). You had to be there. So, here’s something someone made earlier.
I love the word “murmuration” , I wish there was a way to slip it into conversation.

Sounds like a heart complaint to me 😊

I like the sound of it too, but I agree with Jack as well. Seems they can’t make up their minds or the lead starling can’t. Still their ebb and flow is like a dance, isn’t it?

I called it my dusk samba!

simply, it’s one of the most beautiful sights possible – in my opinion, of course 🙂

I saw a small flock of starlings do their beautiful sky dance a few weeks ago. It is simply magical.

Beautiful. You can imagine the conversation: “This way–no, that way! Wait a minute–it’s THIS way! Oh no, wait, it’s….I’m lost. 🙂

They still don’t know where they’re going. We saw them again last night!

It is quite amazing – reminds me of the schools of fish that swim this way too…must be a special word for that? Is the window actually round or is that how you’ve cropped the photo?

I’d love a round window but no, it’s an affect. 😀
