Ok, I admit it. I’m a bit of a hoarder. Liam’s always nagging me to weed out the tat. I usually resist. “Useless today, useful tomorrow,” I say. And we have a loft, the perfect hideaway to hide away the junk from Liam’s critical gaze and oh-so well-rehearsed shrugs. The loft is my exclusive domain, my ‘man cave’. I keep it neat, I keep it tidy and I keep stock. I know what and I know where β well, mostly. Recently I poked through the hatch to look for something useful ‘today’ and came across a mysterious plastic box which had somehow dropped off my mental inventory. It contained multiple pairs of glasses collected down the years, a kinda ‘spectacular’ metaphor for our slow slide into dotage.
It’s funny how our preferred look has remained pretty much frozen in time even as the visionΒ has gradually deteriorated.
Old specs arenβt something that are useful today β not to us, anyway β so I recycled them at a local optician’s. And now I have a little extra shelf space for more ‘useless now’ crap that Liam can nag me about. Happy days!

I can’t imagine Liam “nagging” you about anything. The specs made me laugh. I’d say you need a new “look”. GFY for recycling them. Now get after some more of your tat. π

You’d be surprised what a nag he can be, but then so can I π

More space for more stuff! Marvelous!
And Iβm glad you donated all the glasses. I have a few pairs that will also be recycled soon.
